چکیده

Spectroscopy is a rapid, non-destructive, and low-cost analytical technique that has the potential to complement more resource-intensive methods. We explored use of spectral methods differentiate maize genotypes assess aflatoxin (AF) contamination in kernels. compared performance two instruments: research-grade ultraviolet-visible-near infrared (UV-Vis-NIR) spectrometer measures reflectance from 304 -1,085 nm, miniaturised NIR 740-1,070 nm. Both systems were used predict AF levels kernels single genotype across 10 genotypes, for latter. A partial least square discriminant analysis model was trained on 70% tested remaining 30%. The classification accuracy 71-72% using UV-Vis-NIR instrument 1,170 kernels, 65-66% device 740 247 AF-contaminated 71, 82, 92% thresholds 20, 100, 1000 ?g/kg, respectively. Using same 872 67, 90, 95% validation sets had similar accuracies 100 whereas higher threshold 20 ?g/kg. Reflectance spectroscopy outperformed visual sorting bright greenish yellow fluorescence test identifying levels. Applying estimate mycotoxin identify could contribute regional toxin surveillance action efforts. Further, AF-associated features grain can reduce exposure.

construction and validation of translation metacognitive strategy questionnaire and its application to translation quality

like any other learning activity, translation is a problem solving activity which involves executing parallel cognitive processes. the ability to think about these higher processes, plan, organize, monitor and evaluate the most influential executive cognitive processes is what flavell (1975) called “metacognition” which encompasses raising awareness of mental processes as well as using effectiv...

Maize (Zea mays L.) yield and aflatoxin accumulation responses to exogenous glycinebetaine application

Exogenously applied glycinebetaine (GB) accumulates at high levels in maize (Zea mays L.). Under water deficit and high temperature conditions GB application produces yield benefits. These sub-optimum conditions often result in high levels of aflatoxin accumulation which reduces grain quality. A 3-year (2008, 2009 and 2010) field experiment was conducted to determine the effects of GB on ma...

the role of application of dynamic assessment approach in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels

the present study sought to investigate the role of dynamic assessment (da) in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels. to this end, after conducting the quick placement test, 60 iranian efl learners were assigned to two groups with different language proficiency levels. in both groups each participant wrote two compositions, one before and one af...

: examining l2 teachers’ corrective feedback types in relation to learners’ uptake, proficiency levels, and context types

abstract this study investigates the teachers’ correction of students’ spoken errors of linguistic forms in efl classes, aiming at (a) examining the relationship between the learners’ proficiency level and the provision of corrective feedback types, (b) exploring the extent to which teachers’ use of different corrective feedback types is related to the immediate types of context in which err...

Single fiber reflectance spectroscopy calibration.

To accurately determine sample optical properties using single fiber reflectance spectroscopy (SFR), an absolute calibration of the reflectance is required. We investigated two SFR calibration methods, using a calibrated mirror and using the Fresnel reflection at the fiber tip as a reference. We compared these to commonly used calibration methods, using either Intralipid-20% in combination with...
